KKOKO is stepping into hip-hop with a sound built on energy, confidence, and Southern influence. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and now based in the Dallas, Texas area, she is developing her voice through trap-driven production, lyrical ambition, and a clear respect for the culture that shaped her.
Her connection to hip-hop started early. Some of her first memories of being inspired by music came from riding in the car with her father, listening to rap records, and rapping along word for word. Those moments helped her understand the power of delivery, rhythm, and lyrics long before she began creating music herself.
After moving to Dallas, KKOKO’s passion for rap became more serious. She began writing her own lyrics and practicing over “type” beats, sharpening her flow while learning how to turn personal thoughts and emotions into records. Influenced by trap and Southern hip-hop, her style is upbeat, energetic, and built for movement, but she also wants her music to feel real.
KKOKO draws inspiration from Southern underground rap artists for their authenticity, storytelling, and raw creativity. That influence can be heard in her desire to make music that reflects who she is rather than chasing a manufactured image. She is also motivated by the work ethic and confidence of artists like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Beyoncé.
With her single “Certified” and EP Certified, KKOKO has started laying the foundation for her catalog. She has also performed at Roc Nation Summer Academy in New York, appeared at showcases in Dallas and Oklahoma City, and co-hosted an episode with Pirscription of Private Hip Hop Podcast in Waco, Texas.
KKOKO is still growing, but her direction is clear. She wants to bring her own voice to hip-hop while staying true to her roots, her ambition, and the Southern sound that continues to inspire her.
